Wow this one was a test for sure, it took me some time, and tested my patience and knowledge and skills a handful of times, but I was able to get through it all, and am VERY happy with the result.
This pedal when it's done kicks ass. The rotatory dial to choose from 7 different clipping options is great, you can get all kinds of flavor of overdrive and distortion and they all sound great. I really love the 2 channels, you set the Level and Gain on one side dialed back and the other with more Level and/or Gain and switch between the too for boosts etc. It's a really great idea.
During the build I did have some issues, particularly with position 7 in the rotary switch, which is 2 transistors and 1 diode. I ended up working with the support email and we tried a few things and got this working, ended up needing to solder 2 legs of 1 of the transistors together and flip it around but it works and sounds GREAT.
Darren was SUPER helpful with this one. I can't express enough how understanding, patient, and kind he was when dealing with my flood of questions and assistance I needed with this one. He was always available, and willing to help and VERY pleasant to deal with!
So....you guys should try updating exactly what you are selling. The schematic, in relation to the board, is more or less the same and all. What is different is the screen to rotary switch type and the build doc is entirely alien. I've made it work by just wiring the pots/ switches and using a XX enclosure. Long story short, the board/circuit itself is great, but all else is quite misleading.....I've also managed to measure everything out and just had to enlarge a couple of mounting holes due to being slightly off on my pilot holes. More or less a great circuit, not so pleasurable build experience. Thanks anyway. These are some nice designs.
very disappointed in this PCB. a lot of the graphic was obscured by the pads for the comenents, sometimes you couldnt make out the designation (D/R/Q/Etc.) or the number corresponding to the build sheet. also had a few problems with switches fitting. the 12pt rotary switch doesnt fit without modification of the switch, and the DPDT switch isnt even close to fitting. none of the pads fit in any way shape or form, cant even modify the switch to fit this time. if you were to proportionately scale the switch down to 25% of its original size, it might fit... very disappointed in the quality of this PCB. ive let it slide on others, but this is damning.
